The direct and indirect emissions for energy production remaining in the carbon footprint were offset or “compensated” by ebalta through investments in carbon offset projects.
The compensation was made by supporting the certified carbon offset project “Hydroelectric Project in Kinnaur”, India. This carbon offset project generates clean energy from hydropower and thus avoids emissions from fossil fuels.
In addition to offsetting, ebalta also supports PROJECT TOGO, a reforestation project in which self-sustaining value chains are established. The donation from ebalta will be used to purchase an oil mill for the women’s cooperative in Kotokopé, Togo.
The company natureOffice, a member of the Alliance for Climate and Development, supported ebalta in carrying out the offsetting and certification of carbon neutral company.
